It's personal

I am a leadership and work coach, trainer and consultant based in London, UK. My background spans 20+ years in corporate HR for some of the biggest brands in the world. Through my work I've helped thousands of people get their dream job, lead with confidence and deliver exceptional results in difficult circumstances.

I am also a survivor of childhood trauma, a mother, a wife, and a friend. In 2020 I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD and I began to study the impact chronic stress has on our bodies, minds and relationships. I quickly realised trauma affects all corners of our lives, including work.

My mission today is to help people and teams impacted by chronic stress and adversity to bring to light their power, resilience and potential, lead from the inside out, and achieve more than they thought was possible.

In addition to running Trauma At Work I write bi-weekly on Substack and I support Survivors Voices - an organisation that turns the pain of abuse into power through peer support, activism, research, training and publishing.

Do you often feel drained at the end of your workday, but you're unsure why?

Have you ever been thrown off by a comment that stuck with you for days?

Work can sometimes open old wounds.

Triggers show up while we go about our day all the time, even if we rarely notice them, name them, or try to understand what they’re telling us. Becoming triggered at work is no fun, and can affect your confidence and impact.

This guide offers both employees and leaders a new way to look at emotional reactions at work: not as problems to fix, but as signals pointing to something deeper and opportunities to create positive and sustainable change.

Writing

Books, and later on podcasts and blogs, have always been a lifeline for me. Reading and listening to other people's stories have provided me with a level of validation, clarity and hope I couldn't find elsewhere.

I started writing in order to extend that lifeline to others. I decided to add my voice to the increasingly vocal segment of cPTSD survivors who are stepping forward to help others feel seen, validated, no longer fearful, isolated or ashamed.

Soon I discovered that writing isn't just a form of giving. Writing is a powerful catalyst for self-reflection and learning, a path to finding and becoming part of a tribe that finally feels right, and a form of activism directed at changing perceptions of complex trauma.
